Station and station house; now house and cottage. 1845. By G T Andrews. Sandstone ashlar to front; dressed sandstone with chiselled quoins and window dressings to rear; slate roof. Central-staircase plan to house with station range to rear right and service range to rear left.

Entrance front: two storey, three bay front, with full-height centre portico; single-storey bay to left. Portico has keyed round-arched openings with impost band. Half-glazed panelled door beneath divided overlight. Twelve-pane sashes to ground floor and nine-pane sashes to first floor, all with plain raised surrounds. Ground floor sill band; raised first floor band. First floor window to portico is a radial-glazed sash flanked by recessed panels within keyed Venetian surround. Single storey bay has round-arched radial-glazed sash window in raised, keyed surround, and impost band. Overhanging eaves on shaped brackets. Banks of stacks rise through roof pitch to rear.

Line-side: two storey gable end, with single-storey, four-bay range to right. First floor balcony on ogee corbels to gable end with keyed Venetian screen and pierced balustrade. Twelve-pane sashes to ground and first floors.

Station range to right has keyed round-arched arcade with impost band. C20 glazed and panelled door to right of centre and three bordered sashes each beneath a fanlight with a broad transom. End right stack.

Interior: open-string geometric stair with stick balusters, clustered around a turned newel; moulded handrail, wreathed at bottom; decorated treadends. Window panelling and panelled shutters survive in ground-floor windows.
