Detached house. C17. Square-panelled timber framing. Right gable end and projecting stack coursed squared and dressed limestone. Artificial stone slate roof. Rectangular plan to main body. C20 extension at left gable end and C20 glazed lean-to porch, not of special interest. Main body; 16 storeys with one two and one five-light casements to ground floor (the latter comprising an early 3-light casement flanked by single C20 casements). Upper floor lit by four 2-light C20 eaves dormers with weatherboarded gables. All windows with leaded panes Early studded plank door with strap hinges reused in C20 lean-to porch left of projecting gable-end stack. Interior not inspected but reputed to contain a plaque depicting a crown, rose and lion and gargoyles in a bedroom, and oak panelling. (Womens Institute Architectural Survey, 1975)
