MEDMENHAM HENLEY ROAD SU 88 SW (WITTINGTON) 8/153 Garden wall 85m. to W. of service wing at Wittington GV II Garden wall. Circa 1900. Red brick with brick coping. Brick piers with moulded stone caps and ball finials. Gate piers have stone scrolls to pilasters. Pier at S. end. Small gateway near S. end with flanking piers and remains of arched wooden gates. Walls ramped up to central gateway with larger piers and pair of wrought iron gates. These gates have scroll and foliage ornament and heraldic devices, and are ramped down in form of inverted arch. Another pair of piers near N. end with narrow wrought iron gate and overthrow. This gate has initials HEK (Hudson Ewbanke Kearley).
