Usher to the King (Henry VI), and Collector of Customs for Plymouth and Fowey

Inscription recorded in 1644 'Orate pro animabus Thome Trefry armigeri flii Thome Trefry et Elizabeth uxoris ejus et omnium filiorum'

Thomas was responsible for fortifying Place Manor after a French raid on Fowey in July 1457. During this attack, his wife, Elizabeth, was said to have 'repellid the French out of her house in her housebandes absence' (Leland)

There's an almost identical brass of his father to the left of this one. The inscription was recorded in 1644 ‘Orate pro animabus Thome Trefry senioris armigeri et Avisie uxoris ejus et omnium benefactorum suorum'
