GV II 2 houses of one build. Late 1830s by John Shepherd, a Howden joiner. Colour-washed brick in Flemish bond, Welsh slate roof. 2 storeys, 5 first- floor windows. Symmetrical. 3-bay elevation to No 28 to left. 6-fielded- panel front doors with overlights, that to No 28 with decorative glazing, in fluted doorcases with panelled reveals and consoles holding cornices. Sashes with stone sills beneath cambered channelled wedge lintels with fluted keystones throughout, those to No 28 of 4 panes, those to No 30 of 12 panes. To extreme left - board door with divided overlight beneath cambered channelled wedge lintel with fluted keystone. To extreme right: board door with radial fanlight beneath keyed round arch. Bracketed eaves. Roof hipped to left. Ridge stacks. Contiguous with No 1 Bishopgate (qv) which has similar fenestration to right. Neave D, Howden Explored, 1979.
