Narrow frontage row house. Mid to late C18 front, some C17 fabric. Rendered brickwork front, timber-framed to rear, tile roof. Plan: 2-room right-angle plan with central stair well. 4 storeys, 1-windowed. 9-pane sash at third floor above 12-pane at second, and a modified 12-pane (with a shallow transom-light addition) to first floor. The fine mid C19 shop front on a moulded cill has a radiused plate-glass return to a set-back door to the left, and a panelled reveal, under a glass fascia with gilding. Party wall noted as having eaves and modillion details from No.140 (qv). INTERIOR: details include an early C19 dogleg stair with stick balusters, uncut string and column balusters, with an early C18 framed newel stair to the attic with simple column-on-vase balusters; the attic has 4 good C17 carved foliate timber modillions on the left-hand wall from No.140 (qv), and C18 fielded panelling to the partition with the stair.
