House, now 2 dwellings. C17; C18, early C19, and C20 additions and alterations. C17 work timber-framed with painted wattle and daub or replacement brick infill; refaced in rendered brick, brick and tile-hung additions. Plain tile roofs - brick stacks. 2 storeys. C17 house of 2 bays, gable-end to road, facing south-west. Outshut added to rear, C18, and 2-storey bay to front right; early - C19. 2 storey bay added to front left, so forming a square plan, and the whole re-orientated to face the road. Road elevation: three 1st floor windows. Bays have windows of 3, 2, and 3 lights, small-pane wood casements with tile sills and on ground floor segmental arches. C1980 canopy, returning along left return, masks ground floor of left bay. C1970 gabled porch to right, against outshut owes access to No. 2. Hipped roof with parallel ridges behind, each with stack, that on right with C17 brick base. Left return has door (to No. 1); small-pane windows; and dentilled eaves to left-hand section. Right return has C1970 windows, dormer, and raised 1st floor addition (not of special interest). C20 rear additions not of special interest, but incorporate C19 gabled former outbuilding. Interior: original timber-framed walls visible, surviving particularly well in No. 2 (which has the original rear wall) where there is a blocked, chamfered, 2-light window on 1st floor right. Chamfered beams with stepped cyma stops; old joists. In No. 1 an old strap-hinged, board door and panelled cupboard beside chimney-breast on 1st floor; fireplaces of early C19 segmental-arched type. In No. 1 C17 brick fireplace with chamfered elliptical arch (mostly rebuilt) and bread- oven; wide floorboards to 1st floor. C17 roof has queen posts, through purlins, pegged rafters and straight wind-braces.
