KILDALE STATION ROAD NZ 60 NW North side (off) 6/137 Fern Deep (formerly listed as The Rectory) 5.5.52 II

Rectory, now house. Dated 1691, heightened mid-late C18, with mid C19 addition; C20 alterations. Mostly coursed squared herringbone- tooled stone; Welsh slate roof to C19 part, otherwise pantiles with stone coping and ridges. South elevation: C17 section on left has three 2-storeyed bays with single-storey bay at left end; C19 wing on right, gable-end on, is of 2 storeys, 2x2 bays. C17 part: between left-hand bays is a chamfered quoined doorway with triangular soffit to the lintel which is inscribed "T:C : RECTOR/A:D 1691". On left a 2-light 18-pane side-sliding sash in chamfered surround. On right a 3-light 24-pane side-sliding sash, a single chamfered light, and a C20 French window, the outer windows former chamfered mullion window surrounds. 1st floor has small-pane side-sliding sash windows of 3, 2, and 3 lights. Eaves band. Single-storey bay has block kneeler; 2-storey part has shaped kneeler at left end and end stacks. C19 wing has 12-pane sashes, oversailing eaves and ridge stack. Rear: older part has outshuts of different builds, that at centre now open-fronted. Right return (C19 wing): windows as before but tripartite on ground floor, having central 12-pane sashes. Interior not inspected.
