House, mid C18 on earlier core, brick colourwashed pink, black glazed pantiles. 3 bays, rear extension to centre and left bays, 2 storeys and attic. Raised gable parapets, end internal stacks; recessed sashes with glazing bars, 2 to ground floor, 3 to first floor. Central doorway enclosed by C19 porch, brick base renewed after 1953 floods, upper part glazed with fixed lights, flat roof having parapet of spiked iron bars. Double leaved 6 panelled door with panelled reveals. Semicircular lead covered roof dormer having 4 fixed panes. left hand gable rendered; rear raised to give 2 storey extemsion, casement window with pintle hinges to raised part, 2 lights, one with leaded panes. Right gable against Whalebone House (qv 9/30). Interior: door opens to double depth left hand room; doorcases with reeded surrounds, 6 panelled doors. Fire surround with swags, raised lozenge outline on ceiling, dado rail with wave decoration. Open string curved staircase in rear extension to right, wreathed mahogany handrail with turned newel, square sectioned balusters, octagonal lantern above rising from beehive aperture through loft. Fire surrounds to first floor front rooms with swags and patera. Butt purlin roof, wide collars, no ridge piece, most rafters of reused ships spars; large stacks, loft to rear over extension; original flint wall visible to front, now brick faced.
