Arms of Calmady (azure a chevron between three pears or)

The person it commemorates was the head of the family of Calmady of Calmady in Cornwall, Leawood in Bridestowe Devon, and Langdon, in Wembury, Devon. He was killed at what is now Ford Farmhouse in the parish of Membury during a skirmish between detachments of the Royal and Parliamentary forces in the Civil War.
