Description


BADMINTON C.P. STATION ROAD (west side) ST 8082 12/83 Downlands and adjoining Cottage, including single storey Outbuildings, privvy and G.V. ash-house II Pair of estate cottages. Dated "AD 1862". Coursed squared rubble with freestone dressings and quoins; Cotswold stone slate roof with overhanging eaves and plain bargeboards; central clustered ashlar stack. Plain Tudor Gothic style. 2 storeys. 1:2 (in advanced centre with 2 gables) :1 bays. 2- and 3-light casement windows under relieving arches; the centre 2 windows have a decorative diamond glazing pattern. Panelled doors in outer bays under open lean-to porches; doorcase with a segmental head. Shields on the central gables bear the date to the north and a 'B' (Beaufort) under on coronet to the south. 2-light windows in end gables. Single storey outbuildings, privvy and ash-house, to rear.
