Farmhouse. C17, enlarged C18 and at various times C19. Brick, late Cl7 section English bond; tiled roof. Irregular plan, 3 windows to yard, 3 on right return; 2½ storeys. Facing yard, to right end of late C17 block with contemporary recessed section to left: later wing projects to left again. Large chimneybreast centre of right block, top missing: 2-light mullion and transom with cambered brick arch left. In recess 6-fielded panel front door up 2 stone steps, 2-pane fanlight over, flat porch on console brackets. Plain string course above. To left 2-light modern casement, 4-light metal window in older opening, cambered brick arch. Beyond large, single-storey hipped canted bay, 12-pane windows sides, glazed door in end, cambered brick arch, below flat projecting hood on curved brackets. Above, on right as ground floor, similar window over front door. Four-light mullion and transom window, cambered brick arch centre left wing. Narrow hipped extension against left return. Open rafter eaves throughout, hipped roofs, gabled dormer over front door and centre left block. Behind on left large chimney, 3 diamond-set stacks. Right return three 2-light mullion and transom windows, cambered brick arch, to each floor, plain string course first floor, 3 gabled dormers, hipped roof; blocked openings to cellar below end windows only. Rendered low extension on right, dentil eaves, modern dormer, stone steps to attic door. Interior: dustledge panelling to room on right, ground floor, moulded plaster cornice, panelled shutters and window seats; small ovolo to window frames. Similar panelling to dado only room on left, timber-framing exposed above on 2 walls. Six-panel doors to hall, L hinges; moulded plaster cornice. Dogleg stair with square newels, moulded handrail, and string, turned balusters, fielded panels to skirt to landing. Panelled plaster ceiling to first floor; elliptical arch with console brackets to rear extension to landing. C17 plank doors in attics to right wing. Timber-framed wing to left of entrance has been slightly enlarged on 2 sides in brick: mid C19 wing added to rear, with extension to landing.
