THE DESCRIPTION SHALL BE AMENDED TO READ:

Farmhouse. Circa late C17 or possible early Cl8 (datestone in wall to south west inscribed I.H.1702), remodelled and extended in late Cl8 or early Cl9 and with C20 alterations. Whitewashed red brick in alternate courses of stretchers and headers but not in regular Flemish bond. Welsh slate roof with moulded brick coping to gable ends and hipped end to rear wing Moulded brick kneeler to rear right hand (south west) corner, the kneelers of front covered by later moulded wooden cornice. Brick plinth and wide moulded brick platband at first floor level at front and east side of rear wing. Internal gable end stacks with rebuilt shafts, the large axial (formerly gable end) stack to rear wing with later yellow brick shaft. Plan and Development: T-shaped on plan, 2-room plan north front range with a central entrance and stairhall, both rooms heated from gable end stacks. The kitchen was in the central rear wing with a gable end stack. In the late C18 or early C19 the house was remodelled and extend, the front was refenestrated, a 2-storey unheated 1-room plan addition, probably a dairy, was built at the end of the rear kitchen wing and a 1-room plan addition was built in the rear left hand angle containing the back staircase. In the C20 the house was altered again, the ground floor external walls of the rear left hand addition were demolished to form an open-sided loggia, the back stairs were turned around, a bay window was built in the rear left hand angle and a conservatory/porch was added in the rear right hand angle. It is uncertain whether the small room partitioned off at the rear of the left hand room of the main range was anoriginal feature of the plan but its partition wall was demolished in C20. The single storey stable range on the right hand (west) end of the front range is probably C18; the coach has been converted into an office, the stables are now a garage and both have doorways on the rear elevation onto the yard behind and to right of the house. Exterior: 2 storeys and attic. Symmetrical 3-window front, the windows and central doorway disposed slightly to the left. Originally a 5-window front, original windows blocked and replaced with late C18 or early C19 16-pane sashes in openings with flat brick arches, the windows break through the plinth and platband, ground floor right hand sash is C20 replacement. Central doorway with C19 glazed flush-panel door and C19 porch with rebuilt wooden piers. Gable ends have brick stringcourses of eaves level and small Cl9 or C20 2-light attic casements with glazing bars. The right (west) gable has adjoining stables, the left hand (east) end has blocked openings. The moulded platband continues on the east side of the rear where there is a C19 2-storey late C18 or early C19 addition in the angle with a hipped roof and is now open on the ground floor; in the angle to left a C20 bay window and to left of that a 12-pane sash and 2-light casement on the ground floor. The west side of the rear wing has circa late C18 or early C19 16-pane sashes, ground floor right hand a C20 replacement, and C20 glazed conservatory porch in the angle with the main to range left. South end of rear wing has small 3-light casement with glazing bars on 1st floor. The stable end coach house wing on right (west) side has irregular bond red brickwork and hipped slate roof; blind on front, but at rear has small lunette, large C20 garage doors and French casements. Interior: Much of the original internal joinery is intact. The front right hand room has bolection moulded panelling and glazed china cupboards either side of fireplace which has C20 chimneypiece; chamfered ceiling beam with hollow step stops. Front left room has C20 ceiling boarder and C20 chimneypiece. Large room, former kitchen, in rear wing has C20 chimneypiece and arched china cupboards either side. The central hall late C17 open-well moulded string staircase with twisted balusters, square newels and moulded handrail and fielded panel dado. Bolection moulded panelling on landing at top of stairs and segmental arch with flush panel double doors to rear landing and with moulded cornice over and flush panel doors to left and right. The right hand bed chamber has a moulded cornice and small fireplace with bolection chimneypiece and flanking cupboards with flush panel doors. The back landing has 2 and 3-panel doors, one with drop handle. The rear bed chamber has bolection panelling on rear wall and small fireplace with bolection chimneypiece and C19 cast-iron tiled grate, and cambered chamfered ceiling beam with hollow step stops. Balustrade at top of attic stairs has thick stack balusters and moulded handrail. 2-panel doors in attic. Roof: tenoured butt purlin roof, the upper purlins appear to be clasped above the collars. The rear wing has light scantling tenored butt purlin roof.

Farmhouse. Circa 1700, altered C19 and C20. Colourwashed brick with slate roofs. T plan. 2 storeys. North facade in 3 bays. C20 central half glazed door behind plain portico porch on square piers. Early C19 sash windows with glazing bars within flush early C18 surrounds. Sills of first floor sashes interrupt moulded platband. Timber eaves cornice below gabled roof. Internal gable end stacks. Contemporary hipped cross wing extends to south with similar fenestration. Platband continues. To west side a hipped C20 porch in angle of ranges. To east side a 2 storey hipped C19 extension in corresponding angle. Ridge stack.
