Terrace of 6 houses, now houses and flats, and attached area railings to Nos 6 and 7. Numbered right to left, described left to right. c1820-50 with later additions and alterations including c1980s additions and restoration at right. Ashlar, now stuccoed except Nos 7 and 8, over brick, with slate roof, brick and stucco party-wall stacks (some renewed), and iron porches and railings. Double depth plan with interconnecting front and rear rooms and right side stairhalls. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys on basements, 19 first-floor windows (3 per house with 4 to right). Left bay recessed slightly. First-floor band; continuous frieze, blocking course and copings. 6/6 sashes throughout, all in plain reveals and with sills. Right entrances: 6-fielded-panel doors (some part-glazed) with fanlights mainly with batwing-and-circle motif glazing bars, except that to right a C20 door in solid porch with Doric pilasters to angles, low parapet and copings, and within a glazed door with etched glass, sidelights and elliptical overlight. Rear retains 6/6, 8/8 and 6/6 between margin-lights sashes. INTERIOR: noted as retaining original joinery and plasterwork, including panelled shutters to windows and dividing doors with reeded architraves with fleurons to angles. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: porches to Nos 6-10 have scrolled lozenge motif to uprights with lattice or scroll frieze, glazed and lead tent roofs. No.6 has arrowhead forecourt railings with urn finials to stanchions; No.7 has area railings with embellished rods and arrowhead railings to sides of steps.
