Includes: Nos.2-6 GAMULL TERRACE. 5 lock-up shops and 5 cottages. 1872. Built by T Fluitt on site of Boarding School Yard. Stone-dressed patterned brick with grey slate roof, ridge parallel with front. EXTERIOR: 3 storeys. The shops project beneath access gallery to the cottages, probably on line of former Row; a covered stepped access between shops numbered 60 and 62 Lower Bridge Street leads to Gamul Place. The cottages forming Nos 2-6 (consecutive) Gamul Terrace are of one bay. Shopfronts have a 3-pane window above a panelled timber riser, with recessed door to side, that to No.62 altered; the gallery above has a simple stone-coped rendered parapet. The cottages have bolection-moulded 6-panel doors with simple overlights and one recessed 2-pane sash to each storey. Sandstone sills to lower storey, sillband to upper storey sashes; blue brick bands; flush sandstone lintel bands; blue brick patterns on upper storey; dog-tooth course below slightly projecting stone-capped brick parapet; 3 plinthed chimneys in front of ridge and 3 behind ridge. The rear, at gallery level, has one-storey gabled rear wings, framed and boarded yard doors and 4-pane sashes. INTERIORS not inspected.
