SIBFORD GOWER SP3436-3536 16/266 Manor House 20.11.86 GV II 3 cottages/farmhouse now large, irregular rambling house. C17 with additions and alterations of c.1910-5. 3 ranges and a square tower with brick flying buttresses. Picturesque Arts and Crafts style. Left barn/hall range. Coursed ironstone rubble. Hipped, thatched roof. Large projecting lateral brick stack. 2 Early English lancets and C19 casements. Left end has oriel window to c.1910 'minstrel's gallery'. Central range. Coursed ironstone rubble. Hipped, thatched roof. 2 brick end stacks, one with diagonally set shafts. 2 storeys plus attic. L-plan. Rear. 4-window range. 2-light stone mullioned windows with hood moulds and label stops. 4 metal casements in wood frames, with hood lintels. Latticed lights. Some crown glass. Large dormer with latticed lights. Front has C20 four-centred arched doorways with C20 plank or stable doors. C20 casements. Square tower of coursed ironstone rubble. Lancets and brick flying buttresses. Right range. Brick to rear, coursed ironstone on front. Hipped and gabled thatched roof. Front has 2- and 3-light casements in wood frames with wood lintels and 3-light stone mullioned windows with hood moulds and label stops. Pent. Interior: C17 part has stop-chamfered beams, inglenook with chamfered bressumer, stone flag floors, plank door, window seats, shutters and panelling. Hall has c.1910 interior with 3-bay pegged, principal rafter roof, dias, 'minstrels gallery' and large fireplace. Elsewhere details of c.1910-5 including brick fireplaces, wooden stairs and roofs.
