House. C17, of various dates, early C18 cross-wing to rear left, C19 and C20 alterations. Roughcast plinth; small timber-framing with roughcast infill to left and centre; roughcast to right, probably on timber-framing; old plain-tile complex roof; various brick stacks, including, ridge stacks to centre and to right of centre. U-shaped plan, possibly originally hall house with later lobby-entry addition. Main front to garden; 2 storeys and attic; 4-window range. C18 two-panel door to centre with C20 lean-to hood. Irregular fenestration of wood mullion and transom windows, except Ipswich window to first floor left of centre with wood cornice having pulvinated frieze. 2 cross-gables to left with banded fish-scale tile-hanging. Left return: roughcast to right, with fragments of small timber-framing visible; painted brick to left. 2-storey-and-attic; 2-bay range to right; 2-storey-and-attic; 3-window range to left, Sash door to centre of right range. Right range has irregular fenestration of casements, Wood cross-windows to left range, those to ground floor have segmental brick heads Flat brick band between ground and first floors, to left range, and brick dentil course to eaves. 3 gabled dormers. Rear: red brick to ground floor centre; roughcast, probably on timber-framing to first floor central stone uncoursed rubble to ground floor of cross-wing to left; roughcast, probably on brick to first floor; red brick with flared headers in Flemish bond to cross-wing at right. Irregular fenestration of wood mullion windows, except wood cross-windows to ground floor of cross-wing to right, and Ipswich window to first floor right of centre. Interior: late C18 dogleg staircase to left; C20 open well staircase to right. Queen-post roof to main range. Some C18 fielded panelling to some rooms.
