SALFORD SP2828-2928 12/177 The Old Rectory
GV II
Rectory, now house. Circa 1800 with minor later alterations. Roughly coursed limestone rubble, stuccoed to front; hipped slate roof, in 2 sections at right-angles to rear. 3 storeys with moulded eaves cornice and floor bands to front. 3 windows; 16-paned glazing bar sashes in plain stone surrounds; of reduced proportions to second floor, replaced by C19 casements to left and right. Central entrance; 6-panel door with fluted frieze and wreathed and radiating fanlight. 2 integral end stacks with moulded dripstones and capping to each side. Glazing bar sashes to rear with tall narrow round-headed window with Gothic glazing bars to centre lighting staircase. Interior. Inspection not possible at time of resurvey (September 1987) but noted as having original staircase with ramped handrail and stick balusters. Panelled window shutters.
