EAST KENNETT VILLAGE CENTRE SU 16 NW (east end) 5/152 East Kennett Manor 22.8.66 II

Manor house. Late C18. Brick, with slate roof. Three storeys and cellars, 7 bays comprising symmetrical 5-bay block with central through stair hall, 1 bay extensions at both ends c1925, and C19 rear wing on side containing service rooms. Entrance over 7 steps with iron handrails, 4 fielded and panelled door with elaborate fanlight, the frame recessed within rounded arch. Twelve-paned sash windows with gauged brick lintels, the central first floor window also recessed within shallow brick arch. Six-paned windows to second floor. End bays have 16-pane sashes. Wood cornice with paired modillions. Roof hipped and roofs to added end bays also hipped behind brick parapet. Four brick stacks. Rear door 6- panelled with leaded fanlight. Interior: Front rooms have dentilled cornices and marble fireplaces to rear walls.
