ALCESTER MEETING LANE SP0857 (North side) 4/112 No.2 (Oak House) 01/02/67 - II

House. Early C17 (VCH). Timber framed with lath and plaster and whitewashed brick infill. Old tile half-hipped roof; brick external stack to rear. L-plan. Jettied first floor on moulded scroll brackets. Central late C20 door. Irregular fenestration, with early C19 iron casements; old leaded fixed light window beside door. Left and right return sides have jowled posts and large diagonal braces. Left side has small original 3-light window with chamfered wood mullions on first floor. Part of right side rebuilt in brick on first floor. To rear: Catslide roof with brick stack. Timber framed wing on right has jowled post on right and framed gable; wall below rebuilt in whitewashed brick. Interior: Much exposed framing. 2 open fireplaces with chamfered bressumers; one has fire window with crown glass. Plank and 2-panelled doors with H and H-L hinges.
