Farmhouse, now a private house. C16 or earlier W crossing, early C17 W wing and rear extension to crosswing. Early C19 renovation. Timber frame on stuccoed sill, plastered with panelled pargetting of varied patterns. Steep old red tile roofs. A 2-storeys T- shaped house facing S. The gabled W wing is jettied on the adjacent S and E sides and is part of an older house probably extending to the W and destroyed before the present C17 E wing was built against the face of the E jetty and the N service extension was added. Large central chimney, cruciform above the ridge, is at the junction of the E and W wings with the door and stair beside the chimney. Small tiled lean-to to rear of E wing and pantiled weatherboarded outbuildings attached to N end of house. E side C18 external brick chimney to service extension at N. S front has a wavy C19 bargeboard to the jettied W wing with high plinth concealing an infilled cellar, 3-light flush casement window at 1st floor and 4-light C19 shallow rectangular bay window under the jetty. Dragon-post at SE corner and heavy bull- nosed joists with curved knee braces along E side (brace also in present stair lobby). E wing set back with 6-panel flush-beaded door, top 2 glazed, partly under the jetty, a small 2-light casement over, and one other window to each floor, 3-light above and 4-light below. Central chimney rises to rear of ridge. W side has a side chimney to the S room of the W wing and 3 flush casement windows to each floor. The interior has chamfered jowled posts and cranked tie-beam to upper floor of W wing, head mortices and shutter groove for a 3-light diamond mullioned window in front of present fireplace of middle room on Ground floor, an elaborately moulded cut bracket supporting the axial beam in that room, chamfered and stopped axial beam in the larger E bay into which the E wing is divided, with a fine carved oak wall cupboard of c1600 in the SE corner with frieze, fluted pilasters and strapwork inlay pattern.
