House and forge, now all one house. C16 or early C17 house, forge probably C18. Timber frames on brick sills, house roughcast with weatherboarded apron and steep old red tile roofs, forge dark weatherboarded with brown tiles. Irregular T-plan building set back a little from road facing W next a road junction. 2-storeys house with S crosswing projecting only to rear, single-storey forge parallel with road attached to SW corner of wing with lean-to entrance porch in the angle. W front has double boarded doors to forge with a 3-lights casement window to LH. Similar window to right of entrance door in porch. Dormer window on line of hall range above porch. This range has a large internal chimney with triangular fillet at rear, and 2 windows to each floor. 3-light flush casement windows but a single light to ground floor LH. Crosswing lit from rear gable and S side largely rebuilt. Chimney at SW corner. Interior of house has exposed timbers in walls and floors, old plank door with ironwork to smaller room with wide open fireplace. The buildings were recently used as a shop and post office.
