Vicarage, now house. 1853 by William Reid Carson of Leeds. Yellow brick in Flemish bond with red brick and ashlar dressings. Pantile roof. Gothic Revival style. L-shaped on plan: double-depth main section with wing to rear. Garden Fronts to west and south, entrance to north. Balanced asymmetrical west front: 2 storeys, with 2-storey and attic gabled section to left; 3 bays. Plinth with red brick base and stringcourse; central segmental-arched sliding sash to cellar. Square bay window to right with pair of flat-headed cellar openings with iron grilles, pair of sashes with chamfered ashlar lintels and cills, and coped parapet. Projecting canted bay window to left with 3 similar sashes and ashlar dressings. Central stair window with pair of round-headed sashes in wide round-arched reveal with red brick ornament in tympanum. Two red brick stringcourses at first floor level. Pair of first floor sashes to left under segmental arches, with similar attic sash, red brick stringcourses and cross motif in gable above. Corbelled brick cornice to right. Double-span roof with central gabled dormer, stone-coped gables with shaped kneelers. Large partly- projecting end stack to left and axial stack to right with stepped and cogged brick cornices, red brick stringcourses and tapered square pots. Right return: similar details, canted and square ground floor bay windows and twin main gables with gable set back between. Left return: flight of 6 stone steps to central round-arched opening to internal porch with part- glazed Gothic-style door flanked by round-headed recessed sashes with chamfered ashlar cills. Similar segmental-arched sashes and details to Garden Fronts. Interior: original features include staircase with turned balusters, wood and marble chimneypieces, moulded plaster cornices, panelled window shutters and doors in architraves.
