CHURCH ROAD 1. 5104 Yardley B26 Trust School and Nos 422 and 424 [formerly listed as Old Grammar School (The Trust school)] SF 1386 SW 59/5 SF 1386 SR 60/1 25.4.52 II* GV 2. School. Late C15 and closed as a school in 1908. Timber-framed with close vertical studding and some C19 brick facing at the rear; tiled roof. Two storeys, the upper is jettied on brackets; 4 bays. Ground floor with a modern door, a tripartite casement window and three 4-light windows with leaded lights. First floor with casements, mostly with leaded lights. Most windows modern. The right hand return gabled and with both lst floor and gable jettied. The entrance to No 422 is in the last bay on the left of the school whose timber-framing provides its upper floor. Its ground floor is of painted brick and has a modern door with a casement window alongside on the right. To the west of this is the rest of the house. C19. Painted brick; tiled roof. Two storeys; 3 bays. Ground floor with 2 segment-headed and 1 flat-headed casement windows. Bend of diagonally laid bricks at lst floor level. First floor with 2 segment-headed casement window over those of the ground floor. Brick dentilled eaves cornice. No 424 is physically attached on the left to No 422. C19. Red brick; tiled roof. Two storeys; 2 bays. Ground floor with panelled door in simple frame with hood on brackets and a single segment-headed sash window. First floor with a single segment-headed sash window above that on the ground floor. Dentilled eaves cornice.
