TL 50 NW BOBBINGWORTH STONY LANE 1/28 'The Rectory'

House, circa 1839 by Rev. W. M. Oliver, replacing an earlier rectory on the site. Gault brick built with hipped grey slate roofs. 3 storeys and basement to main range with a 2 storey and attic range to left with 2 gabled dormers to left return wall, attached to this range is a single storey side entrance extension. To the right of the main range is a single storey extension with a large vertical sliding sash window with sidelights to right return wall. This extension has a moulded stone parapet, and a brick band follows through the other ranges. 1:1:3 window range of small paned, vertical sliding sashes, those on the ground floor to main block with aprons and flat canopies with moulded brackets. The enclosed stone porch is approached by 3 steps and has a moulded stone canopy, and plain door with light over. There are internal panelled doors, shutters to windows and moulded wainscoats and architraves. There is projecting eaves to the roof, and the top storey was added when the Rector's children numbered 12. 4 symmetrically placed gault chimney stacks to main block and a small chimney stack to left range.
