Description

PARISH OF ECKINGTON TROWAY SK 37 NE 6/66 Troway Hall II 31.1.67 House. Early C17 with C20 alterations and additions. Coursed rubble coal measures sandstone with quoins, coped gables, ridge and gable stacks, one stone, one rendered, and both with a moulded capping course. Stone slated roof, hipped at the east end. South elevation. Two storeys and attics, three bays, with two gables to full height and a lower advanced gable to the west. Taller gables with 2-light chamfer mullioned windows to attic floor, beneath plain dripmoulds above 3-light windows to ground and first floors, now with mullions removed, and 3-light C20 leaded casements within old surrounds, below plain dripmoulds. Two additional single light openings added to ground floor. Doorway to east side of the east gable, with massive lintel beneath a dripmould which continues on from the adjacent window. C20 door. Lower advanced gable, with a 2-light window, now with mullion removed, and with inserted ground floor doorway.
