House. Circa early C17 or earlier with a large 1970s rear wing. Cob and stone rubble. Whitewashed and plastered (rear wing partly block), thatched roof, gabled at ends, end stack to early wing with large semi-circular bread oven with slate roof, rear wing thatched. Plan: The early house is L plan, and now entered through the gable end of the main block which runs parallel to Millen Lane. The main block is unheated, 1 room on plan and now functions as the entrance hall witha stair opposite the front door. A 1- room plan heated wing adjoins at the left (south-west). The long rear wing is said to be 1970s but apparently incorporates a former outbuilding which was detached from the house. Exterior: 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 2 window front, projecting to the front at the right with a C20 thatched porch and C20 front door; C20 3-light casement with diamond leaded panes above. To the left there is a 3-light C20 window with diamond leaded panes and an attic window in the thatch. Interior: Open fireplace with a chamfered bar step stopped lintel, stone-lined bread oven and stone jambs, chamfered stopped half-beam above fireplace. The partition between the 2 ground floor rooms has been removed preserving the head beam of a plank and muntin screen, the position of the original doorway in the screen abuts the present stair. Roof: 2 side-pegged jointed cruck trusses survive in the main block with halved collars, apex not inspected. One of the cruck feet, visible from the early wing, has been partly dressed-off, and the thick wall between the main block and the early wing has been replaced with a partition wall.
