Lowerhouse Mill Cottage.
GV II
Formerly farmhouse and barn, now 2 houses: C17 with mid C19 and C20
alterations. Coursed squared buff sandstone rubble. Kerridge
stone-slate roof, stone ridge and 3 stone chimneys. Originally
L-shaped, now rectangular with a converted corn barn to the west, part
of the original farmhouse to the east. Demolition of a barn has
revealed a timber-framed wall and roof truss of a collar and tiebeam.
Remainder of the south front has 2 gabled, half dormers and 3-light
window in left end bay.
