Formerly farmhouse, now house. C16 with later C17 alterations and additions, C18 addition to north-east and some C20 alterations. Washed coursed squared buff sandstone rubble and 1 bay in washed brick. Kerridge stone-slate roof, stone ridge and 3 stone chimneys. T-shaped plan from C17. 1 and 2 storey, 6 bay south-east front. Left end bay is an added cross-wing with heavy stone quoins, a 3-light wooden casement below, 4-light chamfered stone-mullioned window above under a rubble hood mould. Central 3 bays of 1-storey with a blocked door to left, 3-light tall stone-mullioned window to the right and C20 rebuilt staircase turret in the centre. Right end 2-bays in brick have cambered brick heads to a door and casements. South-west gable has 3-light mullioned windows with rubble hood moulds and at the rear is a single round-headed light. Interior: Originally had a cross-passage with hall to right between 2 full cruck trusses on padstones (1-now just the upper part) with tie beams and collars sawn away. Inserted floor, partly on timber posts has chamfered ceiling beams and entrance by heck post and screen with chamfered fire beam. To left of passage are 3 rooms each down 3 stone steps with timber framed partition walls. Parlour has a weakly ovolo-moulded ceiling beam and a chamfered corner stone fireplace.
