Dwelling, formerly Rectory.Early C19,incorporating C18 remnants,and with C19 and C20 alterations and additions.Red brick beneath hipped slated roofs,with blue clay tiles to service range.Irregular plan,roughly T shaped with domestic sections on two sides of rear garden and outbuilding range flanking entrance front.Double pile range to north,L shaped range to east.South elevation,north range;two storeys,three bays incorporating much rebuilt work.Tripartite ground floor window with arched head and diagonally-crossing glazing bars.Later windows to east.First floor undivided sashes beneath plain heads,and single pointed-arched window to east end with intersecting glazing bars.End bay of L-shaped range to east attached to south-east corner of north range with stacked sash windows beneath wedge lintols with false advanced keyblocks.Hipped single storey entrance porch to west end with full-height sash window to west elevation.Three bay,two storey range forms south part of L-shaped range with three full-height sash windows with architrave surrounds to ground floor and 4 pane sash windows to first floor beneath wedge lintols with false advanced keyblocks.South gable with off-centre projecting chimney breast,first floor window with small pane glazing and arcaded timber lattice-work verandah enclosing double doorway within reeded pilasters.North elevation,four bay two storey range,late C19 with plain central doorway with C20 door.4-pane sashes to first floor with plain heads and cills. Double doorway to west of entrance and further west,a recessed double opening beneath a timber lintol.Sash window,16 over 16 panes to east end and small segmental-arch headed window to east of door.Two storey outbuilding range to east side attached to rear of L-shaped range and extending north to enclose entrance approach.Stepped range, now much altered but of late C18 origin;north end with steeply pitched tile roof and offshut,full-height double boarded doors and two single doors, one to serve a stable.Three-bay part with shallow-pitched slate roof has internal flight of stone steps served by 4 external steps to north end,below semi-circular brick arch.Three single doorways,that to south end with C20 door,and semi circular-headed doorway to passage.Pointed arched window with intersecting glazing bars to overloft.Interior not inspected,but known to-have afirst floor drawing room decorated with hand painted wallpaper, depicting colonial life in Brazil,on three of the four wall surfaces.
