Formerly house with Lower Hillside (q.v.) now cottage. Dated 1694 with C18 and C19
alterations. Rendered, stone dressings, stone slate roof. 2 storeys, 3 bays, that
on right is an addition. Entrance to left of centre has chamfered surround with
decorated lintel inscribed with date and initials W RE. Round headed wooden hood
suported on shaped stone brackets.
Early C19 6-panelled door. Late C18/early C19 3-light window to left on ground
floor and first floor: Outer lights are 8 paned and fixed, central lights have
sashes and are stepped with milled stone surround. To right of entrance is early
Victorian window with 20 pane sashes, and 3-light double chamfered window above
with fixed lights. On extreme right is tall chamfered casement windows which
probably marks position of former stairs. 2 ridge stacks, the right hand stack
marking the junction of former gable and additional bay. At rear is mid-late C18
extension containing open-string dog-leg stair with turned and fluted balusters and
wreathed handrail.
