II
Vicarage. 1851-52 by Williams Adams Nicholson of Lincoln. Red brick with stucco details, Welsh slate roof. Double-depth plan with 2-room central entrance-hall east front; small yard and outhouse adjoining to right. 2 storeys, 3 bays; symmetrical. Deep plinth. Internal entrance porch with surround of square columns supporting plain entablature and hood; half- glazed door in reveal with margin lights above 2 panels. Ground-floor sashes with margin lights in reveals with sills, raised stucco surrounds carrying cornices and hoods similar to entrance. First floor: smaller sashes with margin lights in reveals with painted stone sills, flat lintels and wrought-iron balconettes supported on scrolls, with balusters of alternating hooped and plain bars with finials. Stepped wooden eaves cornice. Hipped roof. Axial stack to left, pair of square-shafted stacks to rear right, with dentilled cornices and ashlar caps. Left return: 2 full-length ground-floor sashes with similar glazing and surrounds to front, 4 similar first-floor windows. Interior: original features include open-well staircase with turned balusters, moulded ceiling cornices, marble chimneypieces, panelled window shutters and doors in architraves.
