FRETHERNE WITH SAUL FRETHERNE SO 70 NW 5/171 Luffinghams II Former hall house, detached. Probably late C15/early C16, with inserted stack of late C16/early C17. Cruck-framed 4-bay structure with large panel timber-framing with plaster infill and curved downward tension braces, on sill beam on brick plinth. Concrete tile roof, half-hipped, with large part ashlar and part brick ridge stack, small brick lateral end stack to right. Single range of single storey with additional inserted floor in centre with dormers to rear, small added half-hipped wing on north end, and single- storey brick wing to front left, probably of C19, containing door. Ground floor has projecting framed casements to front and rear, latter possibly those said to have ovolo moulded wood mullions. Remaining fenestration of C20, with 2-light casement to left front cutting into former probable arched doorway. Interior not accessible but said to have newel stair at each end, several old doors and arched door-heads.
