Primary school with attached school master's house. 1844, for Longleat Estate. Coursed rubble stone, tiled roof, pair of diagonally-set ashlar stacks. 'L'-plan. Single storey, 3- windowed. Gabled porch to right with Tudor-arched planked doors on sides and 2-light Perpendicular window to front, coped verges, to left are three 2-light recessed hollow-chamfered mullioned windows with hoodmoulds. Left return has large 3-light Perpendicular window with hoodmould and one recessed chamfered light over, coped verge. Roof has square louvred bellcote with pyramidal lead roof and weathervane. Attached to left is lean-to with planked door and 2-light casement, to left is access to tunnel to rear playground. Rear has lean-to porch with 2-light beaded mullioned casement, main range has two large hollow-chamfered mullioned windows. Infants' block in rear wing to right has round-arched windows to basement and entry to tunnel, ground floor has cross window and hollow- chamfered window either side. Interior has 4-panelled doors and partly glazed partition to main room, roof concealed by dropped ceiling. School house to right of main porch has 2-light recessed chamfered mullioned casement with hoodmould and doorway to No 68 (q.v.), first floor has gabled half- dormer with 2-light mullioned casement, now partly used as the school kitchen.
