WOOLASTON GENERAL ST 58 NE Wollaston Grange 10/272 7.8.54 GV II

Farmhouse. Early C19. Rendered rubble over plinth, Welsh slate hipped roof and end stacks and brick modillion cornice, one large external stack at back. A lofty central block flanked by lower wings set back and projecting back beyond main building, hipped roofs. Front is 3 storey plus basement, 3-windowed, all good C19. sashes with glazing bars to first and second floors, and at ground floor two later canted bays plus central 6-panel part-glazed door up 4 steps, and with continuous slated verandah roof. Wing left has 2-light C19 casement with mullion at first floor, and wing, right, two sashes without bars, and a door. Back includes one 3-light C19 casement with mullions, and steps down to round-headed plank door to basement. Interior has good open-well (C19 stick baluster) stair with turned newels and painted handrail. Some stone slab floors. A mounting block remains on the south end of the building.
