House, converted to three dwellings, now two dwellings, tea room and gallery. C15 origins, altered C17, mid-C19 and mid-C20. Part dressed sandstone, part timber-framed with rendered infill, and part brick, front faced in stucco, with paired star-shaped stacks to main ridge with combined cap and external chimney at left gable end with rebuilt stack. Probably four framed bays with chimney inserted in former through- passage; single storey and attic with dormers. Framing: visible in left gable end; double collar-and-tie-beam truss with queen struts. Front elevation: scattered fenestration; at ground floor level left end bay has a 2-light casement and rec(angularlightbetween which is a half- glazed door, the door and rectangular light are slightly recessed; the central bays have a 16-pane sash and C19 doorcase with flat canopy, entablature and pilastered surround and half-glazed door; the right end bay has a late C19 shop front with two canted bay windows flanking a part-glazed door; the moulded cornice above the windows continues to form a flat moulded canopy over the door; three gabled dormers with 2-light casements. Interior: much altered, some framing visible. Rear of left end bay has a chamfered mullioned window set in the sandstone wall.
