House in row. Early C18 refronting of earlier timber-framed house. Flemish bond brickwork, tile roof, brick stack. Side-entry plan with roof of front range parallel to street. 3-storey front block with C18 one-storey service wing to the rear. 3 storeys, attic and basement, 3-windowed. A central 2-light casement flat-roofed dormer above 12-pane sashes in moulded face boxes to brick voussoirs. At second-floor level the voussoirs are only one half-brick deep, but a further half-brick has been added. Stone cills. The 2 ground-floor sashes, flanked by plain pilasters, have plate glass in the lower halves, and lie under a moulded wooden cornice which also covers the door, to left. A 6-panel door with narrow transom-light, painted over, in pilaster surround. Grille to basement in slight plinth. Above the first floor, which seems to have been rebuilt, are alternating painted raised quoins; a single brick string course below first-floor windows, and 3-brick course above the first floor. Coped parapet. Brick stack, right, to plain rendered gable. The door gives to a throughway. There is a gabled C18 wing to the rear. INTERIOR: largely rebuilt behind facade in 1987 after fire; only first-floor joists reported to have survived.
