House, now shops. C18, refronted c1810. MATERIALS: Ham Hill stone ashlar, with coursed rubble to rest; double-pitch roof, hipped slate to the front and tile to the rear with stepped stone coping; brick stacks to gable ends and ridge. PLAN: double-depth plan with lower C18 gabled rear range. EXTERIOR: Regency style. 2 storeys; 3-window range. A cornice and blocking course spans the facade and the returns. The slightly projecting outer bays have 3/3-pane sashes to the second-floor, and 6/6-panes to the first-floor. The second floor of the central bay has a 3/3-pane sash, flanked by ones of 2/2-panes; below this is a shallow first-floor bow-window of a 6/6-pane-tripartite sash, resting on a long balcony with Regency-style iron-work, flanked by 6/6-pane sashes and a continuous cill-band; the corners of the balcony were supported by Tuscan-style columns, only the damaged left-hand one remains; the centre is supported by a canted bay shop window. To the far corners of the ground floor are traces of banded rustication with a platband to the top which continues along the returns. The ground-floor of the left return has a former 5-light hollow-moulded stone-mullioned window, now altered, with an inserted vent; the first-floor has a labelled hoodmould over a C20 casement. The rear range is lower and older, of squared coursed rubble with 6/6-pane tripartite sashes under wooden lintels, to the left. INTERIOR: the ground-floor is altered. The upper floors are essentially early C19 in style with late C19 alterations. The main first-floor room has a late C19 white marble fireplace and stiff-leaf embellishments to a reeded cornice, and reeded panels to a 6-panel door. To the left of the second-floor is a mid C19 register hob-grate. The rear range is altered.
