TACKLEY CHURCH HILL SP4720 (North side) 5/58 Little Manor GV II House, formerly rectory. C18; extended 1817 by Walter Brown, and mid C19. Regular coursed limestone with string course, moulded cornice and parapet. Slate hansard roof has coped gable parapets and stone end stacks. L-plan, with wing on left to rear. Late Georgian style. Main front to garden of 2 storeys and attic; 5 bays. Ground floor has full-length 15-pane sashes, with late C20 plate glass outer sashes; sashes above. Stone flat arches throughout. Attic has dormers with 6-pane sashes between first and second and fourth and fifth bays. Additions are set back on right; open verandah in re-entrant angle has Tuscan column. 2-storey, one-bay range has oculus to first floor; right return side has full-length sash with margin bars. Single-storey range has 15-pane sash. Entrance in left return side of main range has large C19 ashlar porch with flat roof. Double-leaf sash doors and overlight have margin bars and moulded stone architrave. Large dentil cornice. Small mid/late C19 former oratory on left. Gothic Revival style. Left return side has 2-light window with bar tracery. Interior not inspected. (VCH: Oxfordshire: Vol IX, p191)
