Includes: No.2 PORTER PLACE. Terrace of 4 town houses. c1830, altered. Double-depth plan. Red brick, stone dressings and slate roof. 3 storeys, each house 3 bays except No 2 Porter Place at north end which presents only 2 bays to Bushell Place and No 16 at south end also 2 bays. Giant corner pilaster and continuous stone frieze. Doorways have an Ionic doorcase with engaged columns supporting entablature and elliptical fanlight above door within. 4 mid-C19 two-storey stone canted bay windows, these at either end with arched heads to the front 1st floor lights and those in centre with balustrades above. Moulded piers, cornices, sill course, and string courses. C20 windows in original openings between. 2nd floor has various casements and windows in original openings. Raised sills and wedge lintels. Ridge chimney stacks. No 2 Porter Place, which is the returned north end of the terrace with a further wing to rear, has 3 bays. Similar doorcase and 12-pane sashes or C20 sash-style windows. Raised sills, sill bank and wedge lintels. 3-bay rear wing has similar fenestration.
