Farmhouse. c.1670. Plum-coloured English garden wall bond brick with stone slate and slate roof but originally thatch with stone dressings. 2 storeys with basement and attic: baffle-entry plan. Entrance front: 3 bays, C19 2-storey gabled porch to left of centre with arched lintel and C19 doorway with original C17 ovolo moulded door surround within 2-light window with relieving arch over. Stone gable cappings and kneelers. 3-light splayed-head windows to either side with ovolo moulded mullions and 2 similar C19 casement windows to first floor. Band of 2 bricks depth between floors. C19 lean-to wing to left. Right hand gable end has 2 2-brick-depth bands between ground and first floor and first floor and attic. Bricked-up window to first floor with cambered arch and 3-light casement to attic with ovolo moulded mullions and cambered relieving arch above with C20 bricks in tympanum. Stone dressings to gable and band with angled ends. Wing to rear with stone dressings to gable end and C19 and C20 window insertions. C19 outshuts to rear and sides. Interior: Stone flag floors to ground floor; large cambered bressummer to parlour fireplace. Ovolo moulded ceiling beams to parlour and other C17 ground floor rooms and chamfered beams to C17 first floor rooms. Original plank doors throughout. 4-flight closed string dogleg staircase.
