Flemish Renaissance style. Double-depth plan. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys with attics; symmetrical block, each house is 2-window range. The ranges to the centre are stepped forward under forward-facing Dutch gables with ornamental coping and plaques to the nowy-headed apexes and ornamental semicircular-arched openings and rainwater heads to the valley gutter. Chamfered mouldings to 2-light windows to attics with richly-carved festoons to the aprons, 3-light windows with a sill string course to the 1st floor. The 2-storey outer ranges have cornices and ornamental parapets over 3-light windows with semicircular arched leaded lights. To the rear of these ranges are forward-facing brick gables. The projecting corners of the central ranges are clasped by rectangular bays which form porches with chamfered architraves, 6-panel doors and Tuscan columns to the outer corners and 4-light bay windows to the inner corners. The windows are transomed with leaded overlights. INTERIOR: not inspected. The finest architectural composition of a group of mid and late C19 villas built along the Marshfield road, and forming part of the industrial suburb built up after the arrival of the railway.
