HARLAXTON SK8832 HIGH STREET 1315-0/14/192 (East side) 21/09/79 No.43 Trelawn (Formerly Listed as: HIGH STREET (East side) Cottage approx 35 metres south of Willow Cottage) II
House. Late C17, altered 1806 and remodelled c1830. Coursed squared stone with ashlar dressings and steep pitched pantile roof. 2 gable stacks with coped square double flues. Coped gables with kneelers with ball finials. Single storey plus attics; 3 window range. Windows have mainly leaded glazing. 3 stone dormers with timber-framed gables. The outer windows have a stone mullion, the central window a wooden one. Central stone doorcase with mullioned overlight and C20 door. Above it, a datestone inscribed "GDG 1806". On either side, a stone mullioned cross casement. Left gable has two first floor windows, reglazed late C20. This building is one of those altered c1790-1820 by George de Ligne Gregory and remodelled in a picturesque style c1820-1840 by Gregory Gregory, successive Lords of the Manor of Harlaxton.
