KEMSING KEMSING 1. 5280 High Street (North Side) Castle Bank TQ 5558 16/568 l0.9.54. II GV 2. Restored C16 or earlier house, probably a hall. (At one time 3 cottages). 2 storeys, 5 windows irregular. Hipped tiled roof with central chimney stack and later external brick stack facing road. Tile hung lst floor, brick ground floor, stone plinth. Small modern leaded casements. Door under flat hood on C17 style carved brackets. On right return some visible framing with plaster filling and massive end chimney with rubble stone base. Rear extensions of flint rubble with tile hanging above. Rose Cottage and The Well Cottage, Castle Bank and Fairway form a group.
