House, formerly 2 cottages and adjoining dairy. Mid-late C17. Plastered cob on rubble footings; cob or rubble stacks with plastered brick shafts; thatched roof. Originally 2 identical 1-room cottages facing south, each with stack on right end wall. Adjoining dairy on left (west) end. 2 storeys. Overall vaguely balanced 6- window front, all circa 1970 casements. Door right of centre with C20 gabled porch. 4 half-dormers with gabled thatch over are disposed in pairs near each end. Gable-ended block. Present door in original position for right cottage. Central window to left marks position of door to left cottage. Left cottage crossbeams are chamfered with straight-out stops. Oak lintels to fireplaces have scroll stops to right, straight cut to left. Right cottage has possibly original winder stair, the lowest step of which is solid oak. 2-bay roof to each cottage on oak A-frame trusses with dovetail-lap collars and, in left cottage, truss foot is lap-jointed and pegged on to post, a late form of jointed cruck. Plain carpentry detail to former dairy.
