GV II

House, now offices. Mid C18 with late C19 alterations. Brick with some ashlar dressings. Slate mansard roof. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys plus attic. 3 bays. Except for the attic, the windows are sashed without glazing bars and have segmental heads. On the ground floor there is a late C19 brick canted bay window with sandstone lintels. Above, there is a brick storey band. The attic is lit by a single sashed flat-roofed dormer. To the right there is a timber doorcase with fluted pilasters, fluted brackets, an open pediment, a plain semicircular overlight, and a door with 6 raised and fielded panels. Modillioned gutter cornice. Chimneys to left and right. INTERIOR: not inspected. RCHM records original staircase with turned baluster with square knop, turned newels and moulded handrail. Moulded arch divides entrance-passage from stair hall. Ground-floor room has original fireplace and flanking round-headed cupboards. A similar fireplace on the first floor.
