House, forming part of terraced row; with attached verandah. c1826-30; altered. Painted stucco, slate roof with stuccoed chimneys to left and right. Double-depth double-fronted plan with back extension. 2 storeys and 3 windows, symmetrical; moulded gutter cornice. Three-bay verandah with low front wall which has sunk panels, fluted piers and moulded cornice; wooden posts with wavy brackets to a "balustraded" frieze, and a lead-clad roof. The ground floor has a square-headed doorway with fluted surround and panelled door with plain overlight, flanked by large canted bay windows with casement openings and square-paned stained glass upper lights; the 1st-floor has a pair of smaller canted bay windows with altered glazing and flat roofs; and a small rectangular window in the centre. INTERIOR: not inspected. Adjoins No.7 to left (qv). All the listed buildings in Marine Crescent, together with those in Adelaide Terrace, Bath Street, Beach Lawn and Marine Terrace, form a group in the Waterloo Conservation Area of Crosby.
