House, forming part of terraced row; with attached verandah. c1826-30; altered. Painted roughcast, slate roof with rendered chimneys to left and right. Double-depth double-fronted plan with back extension. 2 storeys and 3 windows, symmetrical; simple pilaster strips to left and right, moulded gutter cornice. 3-bay verandah with cast-iron open-work standards incorporating heart and scroll motifs, a simple gutter lead-clad roof. The ground floor has a square-headed doorway with moulded architrave, panelled door and inserted overlight above, flanked by large canted bay windows sashed without glazing bars; the 1st floor has 4-pane sashes with moulded architraves. INTERIOR: not inspected. Adjoins No.17 to the right (qv) and No.19 to the left (qv). All the listed buildings in Marine Crescent, together with those in Adelaide Terrace, Bath Street, Beach Lawn and Marine Terrace, form a group in the Waterloo Conservation Area of Crosby.
