Eaves cornices to the returns form capitals to the pilasters and open pediments to the fronts; small plaster wreaths to the apexes are over 3/3-pane sash windows with bracketed sills to eared and shouldered architraves to the first-floor windows, no moulded architraves to similar ground-floor windows. 2/2-pane sash windows to the inner ranges. Entrances with semicircular fanlights in the returns are under large recessed semicircular-arched panels. No.25 to the left has a C20 door; No.26 to the right is in two parts with one entrance inserted against the party wall under a lean-to slate porch on brackets, probably late C19, and a late C19 half-glazed gabled porch to the return. INTERIOR: not inspected. Devon Square was the centre of the development carried out for the Courtenays c1840-60 to the designs of JW Rowell.
