2. Circa 1830 to 40 villa with castellated additions. Set well back from road in own grounds. Main front facing West. Two storeys and semi basement faced with stone coursed in imitation of bricks. Five windows, the Northern bay part of wing at right angles to main block and separate from it on this front by coursed rubble crenellated tower with machicolla- tion and glacis at foot. The main block has a slightly projecting central bay with rusticated quoins at angles. Low pitch hipped slate roof with bracketed projecting eaves. To left and right of main block, super- imposed bays to ground floor and basement with three casement lights on ground floor concave cornice and hipped slate roof over. Basement; one sash window to front of each bay, glazing bars, block sills. First floor windows, recessed, sash, no glazing bars except on wing, block sills. The main block has trellising on first floor. Central doorway set in flat arched recess with curved corners. Side lights flanking recessed door of four moulded panels. In front a cantilevered tent roofed verandah with cast iron tracery and scroll patterned pilaster and brackets. Flight of cast iron steps flaired at base with turned iron balusters. On the South front the castellated style is fully deployed. Two towers flank a crenellated bay with corners returned on curve to wall all in stone rubble and glacis at foot. Three storeys. Three windows, second floor recessed sash, some glazing bars intact, rusticated ashlar surrounds with Keystones, consoles to block sills. First floor central French windows, side windows on curve as on second floor but with recessed panel below. Cast iron balcony on brackets. Ground floor as above but without keystone.
